The Wallpaper

I must admit, I have never really liked the idea of wallpaper. I am a huge believer and long-time supporter of a bold, solid color of paint. In the my world of home decorating, the wall is a base and accents are found through the use of pretty lamps, pictures and curtains etc. But, of course, to each there own.
Clearly the previous owners of the House did NOT agree with my philosophies on wall adornment.

They must have liked...LOVED wallpaper. It's everywhere.
(I know what you're thinking. "She's not actually going to write an entire blog post about walls is she?" - Yes. I am. Sort of.)

The first time we looked at the house, one of the first things that I noticed was how each room was plastered with its own wallpaper. Sometimes with multiple patterns. Sometimes with layers.

Of course, while some of it is cute and genuinely vintage, most of it is peeling in places or stained and will have to be removed. We actually walked around and counted over thirty different patterns, textures and colors.

Because this is such an old house that is presumably rich in history, it is important to us that as much of the authenticity of the house be kept, and if not preserved than at least recorded. Since there is no way, and no desire, to keep the wallpaper, I have been trying to find other solutions on how to preserve it.

I'm looking for some feedback and ideas on what to do with all of this paper...I would like to turn it into something memorable and a bit more tangible than pictures. I will be salvaging the paper throughout the remodel.

So, if you have any ideas please let me know! Just leave a comment in the box below!
