Let’s be honest, cleaning is no one’s favorite thing to do.
But of course, like many not-so-fun things, it has to be done. We have been
cleaning out the house for the past three days. Three. I think that I went into
this project knowing that I would probably be in need of a shrink by the end of
it, I just didn’t think it would come to that so soon. Last night I had dreams of
mops and dust bunnies. Yikes.
I must say though, the place looks a whole lot better. Now we
can start moving things in! I’m not afraid of cobwebs in my closet and I have
figured out where the best bathrooms are (muy importante!).
Is reading about cleaning on some stranger’s blog post
better than actually doing it? Doubtful. Especially since I’m not offering up
any cleaver cleaning solutions, just a “WE DID IT!” But, it’s my blog, and I
can write about whatever I want. Annnnd, if you are planning on following or
even doing your own renovation/remodel/flip/restoration you should know the
cold hard truth. Many of the remodeling blogs I have had a chance to glance at
seem to show you the before and after pictures (because that’s the best part!).
But what about the in-between?
My list of cleaning supplies:
- broom
- mop and bucket
- chemicals
- HAZ-MAT suit
- help
- patience
- and in serious cases -adult beverages
