No, this is The Shop, with a capital "S"...like a giant man-cave tool shed.
Even though we moved in to the main house over a week ago, the previous owner had requested time to move his custom framing business out of the shop (picture frames!...not house frames, thank goodness).
Today was his last day of moving!
Guess what that means?!
MORE CLEANING! I think Christmas has come early to the Mayhew House.
Joy to the world.
Luckily though, the cleaning job on this place will be a thousand - a million - times easier than the cleaning job on the main house (which will never really be done until the remodel is finished). Basically the whole thing is two levels of a big 25'x48' open space. We would like turn the first floor into a two bedroom apartment/guesthouse, while the basement will be kept as a shop and workspace.
At the front of The Shop is a large room, set apart from the rest of the building by two doors. As you can see, the building has nice bright windows and retro-vintage carpeting. We are planning on remodeling this space into an entryway and kitchen.
This is the lower level, or basement, of the building. As you can see, it is a stark contrast from the upstairs. We still have a lot of cleaning up and sorting through the left behind...stuff.
Such great color scheme going on upstairs.
